The Old Kingdom in Egypt began in 2600 BCE. It only lasted to 2300 BCE. Egypt grew during the time. The kings made a strong government. The kings were called Pharaohs. The pharaohs lived with family in palaces. The pharaoh was very powerful who lead the activities in Egypt. What ever the pharaohs said went without any questioning. People called the officials repaired and built irrigation canals and grain stores. Officials made sure crops were planted like the pharaoh said. They trade and collected taxes too. Egypt depended on a strong ruler. They also thought the pharaoh to be son of the sun god. They showed respect to the pharaoh. The pharaoh was the god on Earth that controlled welfare in Egypt. He did certain rituals that would help his kingdom. The pharaoh was the first to cut ripe grain. People believed it would help with good harvest.
Problem/Solution: The pharaoh needed people who to do their wishes/ they appointed officials to repair irrigation canals, built, trade and collect taxes payments.
