eq: How did the Egyptian Civilization develop?
Egyptians were people like hunters, and food gathers, who settled in the Nile River Valley. They created a lot of villages and started farming within the fertile land by the Nile's river banks. They were the first Egyptians. The Egyptians depended on the Nile River for getting their water because there was little rain in Egypt. They used the Nile for irrigation. They also got a reed plant called papyrus for baskets and river rafts.
There were social groups that were based on your wealth and power. The there was the top, the middle, and the bottom. The top was the pharaoh and his family. The middle was the traders, artisans, and shopkeepers. Unskilled workers were at the bottom, so were the farmers.
There were also three classes, the first class were filled with nobles, priests, and government officials. The middle class was made up of business runners. The lower class was made of farmers.
The head of families in Egypt were the fathers. Women had rights though. Women could pass on properties.
